A contact recently brought this badge to my attention and I’m looking for more information about it, or badges like it. I believe the “J. F. Poore” on the badge is my ancestor John F. Poore, one of the Poore Boys In Gray.
I presume this was a badge issued by the United Confederate Veterans.
- Did the UCV award or sell these badges?
- What was the purpose of the badge?
- Is there a way of dating the badge?

I believe the Daughters of the Confederacy awarded those 2 veterans and I would expect them to have records of the presentation date. That is exciting. Good luck and keep us informed. Good blog by the way.
